MMitD 2021 - Online From The Castle

We realise not everyone can make it to Bolton Castle to take part in the festival - you might still be shielding for your health, not want to mix yet, or simply live too far away, and be unable to travel into the UK. So for the first time we are making parts of MMitD at Bolton Castle available online.

Here's how it will work.

We are not livestreaming the whole thing from the Castle - we thought that might be a bit too stressful on our first outing, not to mention somewhat of a hostage to fortune in our fairly remote location! Instead, we are recording all the concerts and talks, and these will then be broadcast in two sessions - one on Saturday evening and one on Sunday evening (UK time). The format will be Zoom - buy a ticket and you will get an invite with all the links and are welcome to attend as much or as little as you like.

Saturday 18th September 2021, 1800-2230 UK time

  • Concert from Woodwose

  • The Friday Evening Concert in full (including dancing from Gaita!)

  • Talk: Introduction to Medieval Music, from festival director Gill Page

Sunday 19th September 2021, 1800-2230 UK time

  • Concerts from Amyas, Gaita and Trouvere

  • Talk: The Squarcialupi Codex, by Mary Mohan of Archaedium

  • A live link (cross fingers) to the firelit evening party at the Castle

Plus chat and the odd performance from the Castle Stages on both days.

Tickets are £25 each, and are for a single screen - so you are welcome to gather a few people around a big screen if you wish - or watch individually on your mobile. The broadcasts will also be available to ticket holders for at least a month after the event - you will receive a YouTube link to access them in this way.

Tickets available now and you can book right here:

Friends & MMitD Members please note - you have a 50% discount on the ticket price.

You will receive notification of the discount code by email, but any problems just get in touch.
