Join us for our annual virtual shindig, with performance, history, interviews, workshops and more.

The festival follows the tried-and-tested pattern over three days...

Friday March 18th, 7-10pm (GMT)

Friends Friday

A free evening reserved for the Friends of Medieval Music in the Dales, this features:

  • a vocal workshop with Eva Moreda

  • a chance to meet some of this year's concert performers: Leah Stuttard and Vivien Ellis, Clemmie Franks and Victoria Couper from Voice, and Juliette Primrose 

  • a quiz! always fun - but what shall I be tormenting you with this time? Name That Troubadour Tune???? All will be revealed in time...

Free to Friends of MMitD, but you will still need to register. All Friends will be getting an email about this before the end of this month. And if you want to join the Friends and come along, you are most welcome - you can join here.

An Evening of Performance

A mixture of live and recorded performances from concert and castle stage performers. So far, the line-up looks as follows:

As you can see, we again have a wonderfully international line-up.

Sunday March 20th, 12 noon-7pm (GMT)

A Day of Performance. Workshops and Instruments

The day includes:

  • Trouvere's Medievalia - a marvellous musical tour through medieval marginalia, in four parts

  • A Virelai workshop with Lizzie Gutteridge - suitable for all instruments as you play along at home

  • A talk from Gill Page on working with manuscript sources

  • Two visits with instrument makers. Last year we focused on woodwind, but this year it is the turn of strings with visits to Asier de Benito in Valencia and George Stevens on the Romney Marshes in Kent.

Changing your Zoom name

Method 1: in the Zoom app
 Open the Zoom app on your device and sign in if you’re not logged in automatically
 Go to settings
 Click on your name and you should have the option to change your ‘display name’

Method 2: in a test meeting
 Join a test meeting at https://zoom.us/test
 Click on participants
 Hover mouse over your name - select More - select Rename
 Change your name and tick the box ‘remember my name for future meetings’
 OK, and leave the test meeting
